MY STORY

My healing journey began long before I knew to call it healing.

I experienced sexual abuse beginning in early childhood. As I grew older, I carried things I didn’t yet understand, and that unresolved trauma followed me into adulthood. I experienced date rape and later found myself in relationships that were physically and emotionally abusive.

For a long time, I was searching for relief without really knowing what I was searching for.

I looked for answers in bookstores, in churches, and anywhere I thought I might find something that could help me understand what I was feeling. At the time, I didn’t even realize therapy was an option available to me. I just knew I wanted to feel differently, and I didn’t know where to begin.

Eventually, therapy became part of my journey. So did meditation, Reiki, reflection, and years of learning to reconnect with myself. But looking back, I kept thinking about the person I had been when I was searching—the woman who wasn’t ready with all the words, didn’t know what resources existed, and simply needed somewhere safe to begin.

I started thinking about the kinds of tools that would have helped me then.

That question became the seed for You & Me Too Foundation.

We create survivor-informed tools and resources designed to meet people where they are—not to replace therapy or tell anyone how healing should look, but to offer another place to begin and something supportive to reach for along the way.

Because healing doesn’t always begin with telling your whole story.

Sometimes it begins quietly.

With one thought. One truth. One moment of reconnection.

And the belief that healing is still possible.

Because Healing is a Birthright.
