User Safety & Moderation [draft]

The You & Me Too Foundation is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for survivors, supporters, and community members who engage with our website, digital tools, and online initiatives.

This policy explains how we review user submissions, moderate community content, and prioritize the emotional safety of participants.

Our Commitment to a Safe Community

The You & Me Too Foundation was created to provide compassionate, trauma-informed resources and community spaces where individuals may explore healing at their own pace.

We recognize that discussions related to trauma can be deeply personal and sensitive. For this reason, we take thoughtful steps to ensure that shared content aligns with our mission and supports a safe environment for all participants.

Moderation of Submissions

Certain areas of our website or digital platforms may allow users to voluntarily submit reflections, stories, or other written content. Examples may include initiatives such as Truth Rising or future community features.

To help protect the safety of participants, submissions may be reviewed by moderators before publication.

Moderation may include reviewing content to ensure that it:

• aligns with our Community Guidelines
• avoids graphic descriptions of violence or abuse
• does not include identifying information about third parties
• does not contain harmful, abusive, or threatening language
• respects the privacy and dignity of others

The Foundation reserves the right to edit submissions for length, clarity, or emotional safety, or to decline submissions that do not align with our guidelines.

Protecting Emotional Safety

Our moderation process is designed to help reduce the risk of retraumatization within the community.

For this reason, content that includes graphic descriptions of trauma, violence, or abuse may not be published, even if submitted with good intentions.

Our goal is to create a space that supports healing and reflection while minimizing exposure to triggering content.

Anonymity and Privacy

We recognize that privacy is extremely important for survivors.

Many community initiatives, including Truth Rising, are designed to allow participants to share reflections anonymously or without identifying personal information.

Participants are encouraged to avoid including names, locations, or identifying details about themselves or others when submitting content.

Not a Crisis Service

The You & Me Too Foundation provides non-clinical resources and community support. Our website and digital platforms do not provide therapy, medical care, or crisis intervention services.

If a submission suggests that someone may be experiencing an immediate crisis, moderators may provide information about appropriate crisis resources.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, please contact emergency services or a qualified professional.

Reporting Concerning Content

If you encounter content on our website or digital platforms that appears unsafe, harmful, or inconsistent with our Community Guidelines, we encourage you to notify us.

Reports can be submitted by contacting:

You & Me Too Foundation
infor@youandmetoo.org

All reports will be reviewed as promptly as possible.

Ongoing Review and Improvement

As the You & Me Too Foundation expands its digital programs and community initiatives, we will continue to review and refine our moderation practices to ensure that safety, compassion, and dignity remain at the center of our work.

Our Guiding Principle

The purpose of our community spaces is to support healing, reflection, and connection.

Participation in these spaces should never feel pressured, and individuals are always encouraged to engage in whatever way feels most supportive for their own journey.
